I have much to blog about still; Christmas, Holly's b-day getaway, New Years, and some funny things my kids have said and done. But today, someone told me something that struck me, gave me comfort, and made me smile. I didn't want to forget, so I blog.
I was contacted on facebook by one of my dearest friend's aunt who wanted to add me as a friend. If you are reading this, Kerry, it was your aunt Susan. She wanted to know how I was doing, how many children I had, and couldn't believe how grown up we had all become. I replied telling her my kid's names and ages and mentioned that we were complete with three children. This was her reply:
"Three is a perfect number-a whole number. The number of Deity..."
I don't know why exactly, but those words warmed my soul. They reminded me how lucky I am. Lately I have looked at other women who have 5,6,7,8, children and get a little sad. Not because I want that many children but because they seem to be so successful at mothering a large family- something that I always wanted to do. And on days when I feel like my three kids are too much to handle and that I am failing them as a mother, I don't question Heavenly Father's wisdom in sending me three. Because "three is a perfect number - a whole number. The number of Deity." Thanks Susan, for the gentle reminder.
