My mother's daughter

I've decided that because I am my mother's daughter, I am required to learn how to do a few things.
1. Cut hair.
When Tom and I were first married, I learned to cut his hair. Over the years I have learned to cut Savannah's hair, Benjamin's hair, Jacob's hair, and even my mom's hair. Some may question the quality of my hair cutting skills, but at least we're saving money!

2. Make Finnish pancakes.
This is a skill that has taken a while to perfect, but now after being married 12 years it is one of my kid's favorite things to eat for breakfast OR dinner.

3. Crochet.
I think I may have learned to do a chain stitch when I was a Young Woman, but I never had the desire to really make something until recently. And now after couple of months, and several scarves later I can safely say that I LOVE to crochet. Knitting, here I come!!
4. Give birth naturally
Who am I kidding?? I leave this challenge up to my amazing sister, Holly. :)

5. Make Finnish Pulla and other tasty treats that are too long and complicated to spell.
We tackled this task this past week and it won't be my last attempt.

Now, if only I could master her talents of sewing, caring for medically fragile people with love and compassion, making friends with strangers, getting tough stains out of clothing, loving convicts, feeding the multitudes (just to name a few), I would be somewhat qualified to carry on her legacy. Love you Mom!
