Enthusiasm is something I've noticed that my children do not lack. Whether it's Benjamin running EVERYWHERE he goes yelling whatever words he's yelling in repetitions of three, or Savannah giggling her deep staccato giggle when she finds out that she gets to have a sleepover at Grandma's, I find that there is much to be happy about and even more to be excited about.
Tonight we spent family home evening with Grandma Sandy and Papa Milt and decided to walk through one of Woodside's model homes after we went out to dinner. After the tour of the home was over Grandma Sandy and Savannah went out back to explore. About 20 minutes later I decided to look out back and see what they were doing. I wasn't really surprised to see both Grandma Sandy and Savannah running through the backyard with arms spread wide like birds and huge smiles on their faces. You see, whenever I'm around Grandma Sandy I'm always reminded of something she told me once. She said, "If you never get excited about anything because you are worried about being disappointed, you'd be missing out on the excitement that you would have had - even for a small moment". I guess my kids inherited some of their enthusiasm for life from their Grandma Sandy and I'm pretty grateful for that.
