The month of July has taken on new meaning this year. Not only is it the month we celebrate this country's independence as well as the pioneer's arrival to the Salt Lake Valley, but it's also the only month of the year with no school!! We have been enjoying the month with fireworks, trips to the swimming pool, lots of hamburgers and hot dogs, a visit with our cousins Hailey, Mia, and their mother Amy,and lots and lots late nights enjoying all of the daylight that July brings.
I also decided to try something new with my yard this year...wildflowers. When it started to get warm, my mom and I planted a bunch of seeds I bought at the dollar store and sprinkled them all over my island. When they first started to grow, I was a little worried. They all looked like weeds and were getting really big before any flowers started to bloom. Now, I go outside each day and see new varieties of flowers appearing. Everything from bachelor buttons, to poppies. It's exactly what I had envisioned. Happy July everyone!!!
