Savannah will be 7 at the end of this month and until a month and a half ago had not lost a single tooth! It's been a long time coming. Friends, cousins, and classmates have all lost several teeth by now so Savannah was sooo excited to join in toothless grin club. But... before the long awaited visit from the Tooth Fairy, Savannah got a visit from the Toenail Fairy. What? You have never heard of the Toenail Fairy? Well that's because the Toenail Fairy does not visit children as frequently as the Tooth Fairy. In fact, this is probably the only recorded visit from the Toenail Fairy in the entire history of the world.
You see, a few months ago Savannah had a very heavy door close on her big toe while she was going to ballet. And then that big toenail started to change colors until it completely turned black. Savannah was really worried about losing her toenail. She worried what it would look like, if it would hurt, and she kept that toenail hanging there as long as she possibly could. Until one day, that big toenail finally fell off. So, in order to comfort her I explained that sometimes when little boys and girls lose their toenails that a Toenail Fairy comes to visit just like the Tooth Fairy. And so the Toenail Fairy was born. Strange, but it helped get her through the very difficult loss of a beloved toenail. ;)
Since these pictures were taken Savannah has lost her other bottom tooth!
