He said, She said

Here we go...another edition of He said, She said. I've collected a few good quotes and I thought it was time to make a post of them.

The first one involves Benjamin. As we were laying in bed the Saturday night before Easter and discussing the real reason we celebrate the holiday, Benjamin chimed in,
"Easter isn't just about the candy. It's about baskets too, right?"
Yes Benjamin, and some other very important things that I hope we were able to impress on your little mind.

Savannah, oh Savannah. She's really becoming her own person these days. I blame it on the 1st grade. Well, the sassy part at least. The rest of her wonderfulness is purely her. While eating chicken nuggets at McDonalds, which has become a rare occurrence these days, Savannah very enthusiastically exclaimed,
"Man, I forgot how awesome these things are!" I guess, to an almost seven year old they would be.
Some other fascinations Savannah has had lately have to do with the creation of the world, the first people to live on the earth, who Heavenly Father's Father is, how Jesus lived before us, died, and now lives again in Heaven(which she also wants to know the location of), among other things. These are conversations we have frequently, and I do my best to appease her. What fascinates me the most is that the questions she has are some of the very same questions that I had as a child. I don't know if all children are deep thinkers or if we are just blessed with deep thinking genes. Either way, it's rather interesting to have these discussions. Back to my original point. As you are aware, we have a slight obsession in this household with the show Yo Gabba Gabba. One of the characters on this show is a tall, thin, black man named DJ Lance Rock who wears a bright orange spandex suit and a fluffy orange hat. He lives in the "sky" above Yo Gabba Gabba land and is frequently "beamed down" to their planet to experience a little bit of Yo Gabba Gabba life. Well, one night as Savannah and I were snuggling and talking, she says,
"Mom, I think Jesus is kinda like DJ Lance Rock in the sky. He is always watching over us."
I think I laughed for about 3 minutes straight thinking about this comparison, but after much thought I realized that she had made a pretty good comparison that made complete sense to her. And yet, it still makes me giggle every time I think about it.
And finally, last night (while we were snuggling again - I'm beginning to see a pattern here)  I was browsing the internet on my tablet, and the Google home page came up. Immediately Savannah said,
"Google. What's that all about?" I dunno Savannah. What's it all about?

Love my kids.
