My birthday last year was well, less than a "happy" birthday. For reasons I won't mention and other reasons I can't even remember now (funny how that happens) I went into this birthday with NO expectations at all. I guess that's how I should approach every birthday because this year's birthday was perfect. We started out the day before and stayed in a hotel downtown SLC with Holly and Jeremy. Thanks to a memorable dinner at the Olive Garden, Twilight on PPV, and a good military discount on the hotel room, we really enjoyed ourselves. The next morning we went to Mimi's for breakfast and it was DELICIOUS. When we got home Tom's mom (who had watched the kids overnight) had outdone herself with Birthday and Valentine decorations and was downstairs folding laundry! We finished the day with some creamy pesto pasta and an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. In addition to of all that, I got a lot of "happy birthday" wishes from my friends and family which mean the most to me. It was a great birthday.
