Christmas is Coming!!

I love this time of year! Yesterday I (well Tom) got out all of our boxes from storage with Christmas decorations and I decorated the house. Of course I wasn't surprised when Savannah wanted to play with every nativity scene that I had displayed. Luckily, all of them with one exception is made of kid-friendly materials. It was interesting to see the different ways she organized the little figurines. This one was especially sweet. Everyone is surrounding the Christ child as close as they can get. When taking out one of my favorite decorations, "The Weeping Santa" I had a good memory from Christmas last year. I thought I would include my journal entry:
December 1, 2006
One of our decorations is a little statue titled, “Weeping Santa”. It’s Santa Clause holding the Christ child with a tear rolling down his cheek. Yesterday as Savannah was engaged in climbing all over the furniture she made her way to the statue that was sitting on a table between our two couches. I sat up quickly because I wasn’t sure what her plans were for that little statue, but then she surprised me as she leaned over and gently gave Santa a kiss on the cheek. It was probably one of the sweetest things I have EVER seen her do. Again, my heart completely melted. We just love her so much and are amazed every day by her beauty and tender spirit. We are so blessed to have her in our home. Until next time…

Hopefully we will have many wonderful Christmas memories this year!!!
