Anything for a Date Night

Having kids changes everything. Including your ability to engage in activities such as double dates. Since we started having children, Holly and Jeremy and Tom and I had yet to go on a double date together. So when our sister-in-law April volunteered to watch all four of our children, we didn't care that we had to drive all the way to Lehi to take her up on her offer.

I was thoroughly excited and looking forward to enjoying a stress-free dinner without having to feed a child, keep Savannah from climbing onto the people in the booth next to ours, and cater to my kids' every need while sneaking in bites of my dinner as rapidly as I could. We had plans to eat at Outback Steakhouse. As a matter of fact, I had already printed out the menu early in the day and selected which entrees I was going to order before we even left the house. Everything was shaping up to be a great evening.

Well, to may a long story short, Benjamin wasn't cooperating with his feeding schedule, so we had a limited amount of time before we had to get back. And since every restaurant in Provo had a waiting time of at least an hour (I forgot how crazy Provo is on a Friday night), we ended up eating at the restaurant with the shortest wait, which just happened to be "Sizzler". Now if you know Holly, you will understand how funny this really is. It's a long standing joke in our family that Holly would rather sit down inside a fast food restaurant then go to a "buffet style" restaurant. But being the team player that she is, she swallowed her pride and we had a really fun time. And to top it off, the food was actually pretty good! Here are a couple of pictures from the evening.
