So if you know me, you'll know that my hair has pretty much been every color there is. From black, to platinum blond to every shade in between, there isn't a color that I haven't tried. Well, besides the colors of the rainbow. I digress. About three years ago I decided to stick with a darker shade closer to my natural color. This was great because the upkeep was cheap and saved me from having those dark roots I would get while I was blond. And yet, I would frequently get asked, "what is your natural hair color?" To which I would reply, "It's close to this, just a little lighter." But seriously, I got asked this question ALL THE TIME. And most of my family was not a fan of the dark hair either. "It makes you look older," they would say. "It looks like you are wearing a wig." "I liked the blond Heidi better."
Well, after having Jacob and feeling old and tired I decided to put a little spring in my step and return to blond. Well, blonder at least. And after been dark for so long you would have thought that people would notice but no one did. I'm assuming it's because I spent more of my life as a blond than a brunette. But yesterday as I was on my way to have my mom touch up those dark roots, I got a comment from a person who will remain nameless. "Remember when you were brown for Ruby's blessing? You looked hot then." Okay, I thought to myself. Apparently I am not hot now. Which I knew, but still. Then as Grandma was painstakingly applying the color to my hair, Savannah -bless her heart - asked,"what color are you gonna be now?" To which I replied, "well, what color do you like Mommy to be?" To which she said, "Brown. I think you look gooder brown." Well hmmm...now my self esteem is really in the toilet.
So, for heaven's sake people! Which is it? Blond or brown? Please vote now.

So, I think your hair color looks great in your family photo! I noticed that before I even read your post! It isn't as dark as the picture of you with Mindy, and not as blond as the bottom picture. It's a good blend of the two. I haven't seen you in person in agea though, so don't really know what to tell you! You should go with what you like best...it's your hair. Love you!
You know me, I loved your dark hair, but change is fun! Do what ever you want to do! ( I am a little jealous, since I can't change the color of my hair!)
i love it both ways!!! and i mean look at me, i'm like the hair expert.. ;)
Okay Heidi, honestly you have the face and personality that can pull off any color or style. I will try not to be to political and try and give you an actual opinion, so here it goes...Stu and I have known (or seen you more) as a blond. He said he likes the blond. I do too, but I like the carmel w/blond highlights that you have in your more recent family picture. I think everyone would have a heart attack if I ever drastically changed my hair color. The most I've ever done is blond highlights. Maybe I will be more adventurous since I have recently discovered a few gray hairs! Good luck Heidi.
I like it a little blonder, but not too blonde. That being said, I am thinking of going darker brown-- but now I'm worried it will make me look older.
Ummm...I guess I need to let you know that you are ALWAYS the woman of my dreams - no matter what your hair color! I have commented how I love your hair BOTH ways - I was just making a comment on that particular picture that your hair looked great. Just in case you've forgotten, I have also commented on many of your blond pictures that your hair looks great as well! ;)
The reason it is so hard to decide is because you really do look great both ways. I think it is fun to mix things up and change it back and forth...and I think that is what you like to do too. So, go with what you want now and then change it later. Why not? You are hot both ways! :)
i remember when i very very first first met you, you were blond and you were gorgeous. however, i do enjoy the brown a little more... it makes your eyes pop and your complexion look amazing. brown :)
You look great both ways but I think I prefer the blonde. My favorite comment that people make is - "you colored and cut your hair." That's it. No it looks good or I liked it better before, etc. Just the statement - what do you take from that?? :)
