I thought that I would be a complete emotional basket case on Benjamin's birthday, but thankfully I was just overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of life we were blessed with on June 14, 2007. We celebrated Benjamin's 1st birthday with a low key celebration at Grandma and Papa Van's house. Grandma Sandy and Papa Milt joined us later but the birthday boy was already in bed because of all the excitement!
Benjamin continues to be a happy, easy going, boy who loves playing with his older sister. Some of his other "favorites" are:
*Reading books
*Playing outside
*Eating string cheese, blueberries, and peas
*Favorite sounds, "ya-ya", "ma-ma", "da-da", "hi"
*Bath-time
*His yellow Little Giraffe blanket
*His pacifier
He seems to be developing right on track, and we continue to be so grateful for each step of progress he makes and try not to take anything for granted. Speaking of steps, he's not quite walking yet but recently has started to stand for a few seconds on his own. Hopefully he'll reach the walking milestone by 15 months or so. We are just so incredibly blessed to have Benjamin a part of our lives and our family. We love you soo much Benjamin! Happy 1st Birthday!
