Not holding my breath but...
So since I'm new at this whole potty training thing...I need to get some opinions. I have heard from other parents the all too familiar tale of, "my child was doing soo well with potty training and then they decided they didn't want to do it anymore!". I am afraid that I am settling into a state of complacency too soon. Savannah hasn't had an accident (except at night) since Thursday morning. She rarely needs me to ask her if she has to go potty and most of the time I'll find her going potty all by herself. She's never had a poop accident(thank goodness), and is very regular in that department, but I'm wondering if there are others who have been going along this same path and then had a setback? Please chime in with your potty training experiences! I want to feel justified in my confidence in Savannah but am wondering if it's too soon? While I'm taking opinions, I might as well take a poll on how many of you have your potty trained kids sleep in Pull Ups? Savannah has wet the bed two out of three nights and I'm thinking this is the direction I need to go.

I don't know anything about potty training, except that I think it's awesome that our bodies do all the work and all we have to do is sit down.
I did, however, read a book called Everybody Poops, maybe you Savvy would like it?
heehee
Well, it sounds like she's doing great. Sissy did really well after we "ran out of diapers." She only had a few accidents. We did run into some resistence a couple of weeks later, but since it was easy to tell when she needed to go, I would say "I'm gonna go potty first!" and run to the bathroom. It never failed to get her to beat me to the bathroom and go. If Savannah's made it through the night she can probably do it. I put Sissy in "night-time underwear" at first (cloth diaper) until she insisted on wearing her regular underwear. As long as she goes potty right before bed she's fine. The problem with the pull-ups is that they are too pretty and she liked them too much when we had them, so I got rid of them all.
Congratulations!! In my experience, once the kiddo is committed, it's been a done deal with no regression. My oldest stayed dry all night 2 weeks after day-training. My younger needed a few months more to get the night training done. (Not surprisingly, my younger is a deeper sleeper.) I never found success with pull-ups. They are just too expensive and my kids just used them as diapers anyway. If I remember right, I just put diapers on them at night until they woke up dry on a regular basis. Good luck!
Boys are a lot harder than girls, or at least that was the story in my case. Or, it may have been that Heath was first.
We didn't have setbacks, per se. But, we did get a puppy when Olivia was just getting confident in potty training. She had a lot of accidents then. (I think it was more of a jealous thing though.)
We had the kids sleep in pull ups until the pull up ended up dry consistently for a while. (I know, seemed like a total waste at the time, but it saved the matress.)
Good luck, and way to go Savannah!

Thanks!
Potty training at night is a whole other breed from daytime training. Lots of kids wear pull-ups even until they're eight or nine years old. I'd totally let it happen in that sense.
As far as daytime, it sounds like she's doing it on her own terms and she feels like she's in charge, so chances are that it will stick. If she has an accident, don't make a big deal about it, and continue on. Most kids don't regress unless they suddenly have some new major change in their lives like a new house or *gasp* a new sibling!
Way to go Savannah!!!
